Garrisa University Reopens After Attack.

Yesterday, Garissa University in Kenya reopened after being shut for nine months following the gruesome attack by Al-Shabaab terrorists where 147 people were killed. The mood on campus has been solemn, with the few people who resumed and attended the ceremony fixed to mark the reopening, seen hugging and reminiscing.

Uhuru Kenyatta, the Kenyan president announced in December that the reopening of the university would be to send a message out to the terrorists that the country would not submit or be afraid of the Somali-based insurgents.

If the university would ever really recover is another issue, as almost 650 students have already sought transfers to Moi University in Eldoret, a branch of the school's parent institution. I can't even blame them for it because the trauma from the horrific attack is bound to devastate even the toughest persons.

I hope this new year would experience far fewer terrorist attack across the world. I hope these religious fanatics would get a supernatural brain-reset and desist from these senseless killings.
