Two persons have been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl in Kubwa, Abuja. The victim, a pupil of an Islamic school in the area, was said to have been raped by the suspects and one other person, presently at large, at different times and locations.
It was revealed that one of the suspects lured the victim to his residence a month earlier, where he raped her, after which she was later defiled by the second suspect, now at large. The source however said that the father, takes care of the children having divorced the girl’s mother.
A source said that the victim, in the recent incident, was alone in their residence in Phase 2, Site 2, area of the town when the suspect took advantage of the absence of the father and other siblings and had carnal knowledge of her. The source said that the father, reported the case to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
When contacted, the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent Nurruddeen Sabo, said the case had been transferred to the State CID for investigation. He said efforts were ongoing to arrest the third suspect.
